In this video tutorial I show you how to make your own fabric labels using stuff that you probably have at home already. Whether you sew, quilt, or enjoy making other kinds of homemade projects this technique is for you! All you need is an inkjet printer, printer paper, freezer paper, and the fabric you want your label to be on. That’s it! Using a word processing program on your computer you will basically print the text for you label directly on the fabric. This is perfect for making quilt labels, clothing labels, backpack labels for kids, etc.

@rossett622 I don’t know if that would work because of the texture of nylon 6. The best way to find out is to experiment with a small test piece and see. Good luck.
@rossett622 As I mention in the video I only use 100% cotton fabric. You can print out pictures on it as well you just have to make sure whatever ink you are using will be permanent on the fabric once you heat set it.
@genc100 Hi. You can’t use wax paper instead. If you put a hot iron to the wax paper you will end up with a big burnt mess. As for the fabric.. I have only used 100% cotton because the natural fiber better absorbs the ink. Not sure if poly would work.
hello, i would like to ask if i can use the wax paper instead of freezer paper? and any fabric can do…whether cotton or polyester, etc? thanks very much.
Oh also backpacks are made out of nylon 6 would that work?
Thanks so what kind of material is that? And I was thinking of printing a picture out on it and making my own backpack do you think that would work??
@twig501 Thanks!
@BuyAClueDude No problem.

Love it… LOVE IT>. ty..
fantastic
@TheCraftyGemini Oh, yep, butcher paper is the same then. Thanks so much!
@Euitha I use Canon too. Some inks will be permanent and others will wash out. The only way to know for sure is to try it out. If the butcher paper has one shiny side and the other is just paper then yea… I only know it as freezer paper but it is used to wrap meats for the freezer so they may very well be the same thing. Hope that helps.
What kind of ink do you use? I have a Cannon printer, but I just want to make sure I’m using the right ink. Also, is freezer paper the same as butcher paper?
